Erik Eik

 

Erik Eik - Chaiman of the Board
General Manager and Owner E-Invest AS

Mr. Eik has served as a member of the BoD since 1994 and as Chairman from March 1999.

An economist, graduated from the College of Business Administration and Economics in Bergen, Mr. Eik is general manager and owner of E-Invest AS. He was managing director, Felleskjøpet Rogaland Agder from 1989 to 1995; managing director, Svacom a/s from 1985 to 1987, director of Statoil's economic/finance and administration staff from 1982 to 1985.

Mr. Eik holds positions on various boards. He was chairman of the board of Sandnes Sparebank, and is presently chairman of the board of Bergtor AS, Georg Stangeland AS, GS Eiendom and Finans AS and Helland AS. He is a board member of Det Stavangerske Dampskipsselskap A/S, Stavangerske AS and five other companies in the same group and IOS Tubular Management AS.

Mr. Eik is also among I. M. Skaugen’s 20 largest shareholders. His current term expires in 2006.


Nils Gregusson

 

Nils Gregusson

Mr. Gregusson was newly elected to the board in 2003. Graduating from Oslo University in law in 1971 and starting his practising career in the same year (BAHR), he joined Wiersholm, Bachke, Helliesen in 1972 until 1991. From 1991 to 1996 he was managing director of Poseidon AS, and since 1 January 1996 he has been a partner of Gregusson Hetty ANS.

Mr. Gregusson is chairman of the boards of Carl Christensen & Brødre AS and CCB Stål AS. He sits on the boards of AS Backe, Bergshav Shipholding AS, Glastad Invest AS, AS Schram & Co., Offshore Rig Company of Norway AS, Marine Shuttle Operations AS, Eikland AS, Rinus Invest AS and Hill Holding AS.

His current term on the board of I.M. Skaugen expires in 2007.


Morits Skaugen

Morits Skaugen joined the I. M. Skaugen board in late 1990 after the merger that created the public company I. M. Skaugen ASA. He became the CEO in 1992, when the company initiated its turnaround process. He has since then been in charge of refocusing the Group and its activities, with its customer service programmes, quality, cost reductions, global approach and innovation processes the main drivers.

Morits Skaugen holds a degree in Business Administration from Seattle University, USA. He has top managerial and board experience in finance, industrial, shipping and marine-related service activities, nationally and internationally. He serves on the boards of all I.M. Skaugen joint venture companies and has the following current external directorships: Chr. Bjelland & Co AS; Winder ASA; Creo Advisors AS; and Estatia AS. He is the Chairman of Oslo Maritime Network and the Board of Competence and Innovation at the Norwegian Shipowners Association. Morits Skaugen is also the managing director and a board member of Eikland Holding AS, the main shareholder of I. M. Skaugen ASA.

His current term on the I. M. Skaugen board expires in 2007.


Bertel O. Steen
 

Bertel O. Steen jr.
Partner in the law firm Torkildsen, Tennøe & Co.

Mr. Steen was elected as a new board member in 2003. A qualified lawyer, he also holds an MSc. in Business Administration. Presently a partner in the law firm Torkildsen, Tennøe & Co., he has previously worked in the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s shipping department, been an assistant judge in the county of Orkdal, and an in-house lawyer in Stolt-Nielsen Shipping Company. In 1982, Mr. Steen established his own law firm, which he ran until he joined Torkildsen, Tennøe & Co. as a partner.
    
He sits on several boards, of these he is chairman of the boards of Wittusen & Jensen AS and WJ Business Partner, a member of the boards of Thyssen Aufzüge Norge AS and Aktieselskapet Borgestad.
    
His current term on the I. M. Skaugen board expires in 2006.



Christian Wessel

 

Christian Wessel
Partner in Private Capital AS

Christian Wessel was elected to the board in March 1999. He is currently a partner in Private Capital AS. Mr. Wessel graduated from Handelsakademiet and has broad experience in the shipping and finance industries. He has served as an associated partner in Elcon Partners and Arkwright, as an analyst and as managing director in R.S. Platou Securities AS. He is a board member of Dyvi AS, Tschudi & Eitzen Holding AS and InterMedium AS.

His current term on the I. M. Skaugen board expires in 2007.


Jon-Aksel Torgersen
 

Jon-Aksel Torgersen
Chief Executive Officer of Astrup Fearnley AS

Mr. Torgersen was newly elected to the board in 2003. He holds an MBA, specialising in finance, from Hochschule St. Gallen, Switzerland. Currently he is the chief executive officer of Astrup Fearnley AS., which is the parent company of a number of investment and broker companies in Norway and abroad. He has extensive experience as a board member and board chairman of a number of companies within the property, shipping, finance, industry and offshore sectors, of which 10 are listed companies.
    
Mr. Torgersen’s current term on the I. M. Skaugen board expires in 2006.


Karen Helene
Ulltveit-Moe
 

Karen Helene Ulltveit-Moe
Professor in International Economics, University of Oslo

Karen Helene Ulltveit-Moe was newly elected to the board in 2005. She holds a PhD in economic from Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH), Bergen, Norway. Presently she is Professor in International Economics, Department of Economics at the University of Oslo.
Karen Helene Ulltveit-Moe holds positions on various boards and commitees. She is member of the board of Unitor ASA, member of the corporate assembly of Norsk Hydro ASA. She was member of the public commission appointed by the Norwegian government to consider Norwegian tax reform (“Skauge-utvalget”), previous member of the public commission appointed by the Norwegian government to consider the industrial policy measures and previous member of an advisory group on innovation to the Minister of Trade and Industry.

Her current term on the I.M. Skaugen board expires in 2007.
