Skaugen (China) Holding Co., Ltd. is part of the I.M. Skaugen Group. Established in January 2008 and operating in Shanghai, Skaugen (China) Holding will own all of I.M. Skaugen’s investments in China and be the base to develop further business in and to/from China.

I.M. Skaugen was one of the first Norwegian companies to establish its presence in China and initiated pioneering ventures in the region:

• Operated successful passenger cruise activities in China during mid 1990s
• Pioneered the transportation of ethylene to and from China in early 1990s
• First Sino-International joint venture to engage in Chinese domestic water transportation of LPG and other petrochemical gases along the Yangtze River through Hubei Tian En petroleum Gas Transportation Company
• First Chinese domestic gas shipping company to receive the Document of Compliance of Chinese National Safety Management (NSM) from the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) for its safety standards through Hubei Tian En petroleum Gas Transportation Company
• First private funded seafarer training institute to obtain ISO9001:2000 accreditation certified by DNV through Wuhan University of Technology-Skaugen Training and Consulting Co. Ltd.
