| FiveStar Marine Ltd, Shanghai a joint venture partnership between I. M. Skaugen (www.skaugen.com) and the UMOE Group (www.umoe.no) both Oslo, Norway is a manufacturer and supplier of state-of-the-art luxury motor boats. Established in early 2005, the company designed and now produces two different brands of quality motor boats in China for the export market. Each brand; the Nordic Star and the Long Island is now prodcued in two different types of boats. |

The company is located in purpose-built modern premises near Shanghai in the Songjiang Export Processing Zone, where it benefits from simplified customs procedures, duty free import of raw materials and components, as well as the export of finished vessels. FiveStar Marine has effectively brought together the resources of the joint venture owners with the western know-how of a skilled senior management team and combined these with the Chinese management and production methods. The management teams and some of the key employees have worked together previously on significant boat projects in China and both shareholders have significant ventures in China thus allowing for sharing of competence. Through the support of its joint venture owners, FiveStar Marine has developed a range of retro-style marine crafts that are achieving highly successful sales in only their first year of manufacture.
